Bluegrass Greensource is always grateful for help maintaining Buckley Wildlife Sanctuary, organizing the Nature Center, staffing community booths, or helping out at events. People ready and willing to get their hands dirty with invasive species removal, trail maintenance, or at community litter cleanups are also appreciated. Whatever you want to do, we will find a way for you to get involved!

Interested in helping maintain Buckley Wildlife Sanctuary? Whether you have experience with invasive plant removal and trail maintenance or you want to learn, we’d love to have you join the Friends of Buckley volunteer team!

Important tips for volunteering at Buckley:

• Bring your own water/water bottle and snacks. No snacks are provided.

• Bluegrass Greensource will provide tools, gloves, and materials. Feel free to bring your own tools/gloves if you prefer.

• Please dress for the weather and environment. We will be in brushy, wooded areas where there are ticks and poison ivy. We recommend wearing pants tucked into socks, long sleeves, sturdy shoes, and a hat. Permethrin-treated clothing is also recommended.

• In the event of inclement weather, we will shift our focus to trail maintenance activities or indoor projects. Cancellation will be in the event of snow/bad roads.
