Nestled in the beautiful, rural landscape of Woodford County, Buckley Wildlife Sanctuary is dedicated to environmental education and conservation. Now managed by Bluegrass Greensource, we’re excited to offer field trips, summer camps, and other hands-on learning experiences to explore the incredible flora and fauna of this special place.
Since July 2024, Bluegrass Greensource has been leading efforts to enhance educational opportunities at the sanctuary. Book a field trip today and stay tuned for upcoming programs designed for learners of all ages! Our mission is to protect the sanctuary’s birds, wildlife, and habitats through strong community support, responsible management, and engaging educational programming. On-site amenities include a picnic pavilion, nature center, and hiking trails.

Field Trips to Buckley Wildlife Sanctuary
Interested in bringing your students to Buckley Wildlife Sanctuary for a day of outdoor learning? Buckley Outdoor Day activities can be adjusted to fit the class theme, curriculum, and needs. Students participate in multiple stations, learning about ecology, water, forestry, and/or energy with Bluegrass Greensource’s Environmental Educators. All activities support the Kentucky Academic Standards, with an emphasis on the Earth and Life Science Standards.
