Buckley Wildlife Sanctuary is dedicated to environmental education and located in beautiful, rural Woodford County. Bluegrass Greensource will soon be offering field trips, summer camps and other opportunities to enjoy the flora and fauna of this amazing space.

Starting in July 2024 Bluegrass Greensource took over management Buckley Wildlife Sanctuary. Request a field trip today and stay tuned for education activities for learners of all ages! In the meantime, please visit the trails and connect with us on social media (Facebook and Instagram) to learn about our events and projects at the sanctuary.

We are dedicated to protect the integrity of the sanctuary, its birds, wildlife, and habitats by developing strong support, sound management, and excellent educational programming. On site you will find a picnic pavilion, nature center, and hiking trails.

The trails are open Wednesday – Sunday 9:30am -5:00pm. Times will be updated based on season. A fee off $8 per car can be paid onsite with cash or check, or by using Venmo (see QR code in parking area).

Field Trips to Buckley Wildlife Sanctuary

Interested in bringing your students to Buckley Wildlife Sanctuary for a day of outdoor learning? Buckley Outdoor Day activities can be adjusted to fit the class theme, curriculum, and needs. Students participate in multiple stations, learning about ecology, water, forestry, and/or energy with Bluegrass Greensource’s Environmental Educators. All activities support the Kentucky Academic Standards, with an emphasis on the Earth and Life Science Standards.
