Riverfest
Riverfest Postponed Until June 6 Due to High Water Levels
Due to continued high water levels and unsafe river conditions following this week’s rain, Bluegrass Greensource has made the decision to postpone our 5th annual Riverfest in the interest of participant safety.
Riverfest will now take place next Saturday, June 6, from 9:00 AM–2:00 PM at the Clifton Boat Ramp.
We know many of you were looking forward to joining us this weekend, and we appreciate your understanding as we prioritize safety on and around the river.
The good news is that we’re still planning a fun-filled day on the water next weekend with *FREE* hands-on test sessions of various paddlecrafts, including stand up paddleboards, canoes, and kayaks, courtesy of Canoe Kentucky.
Attendees can also enjoy:
- Interactive environmental education activities for all ages.
- Hands-on exhibits and demonstrations from local conservation organizations.
- Family-friendly games and crafts.
- Opportunities to learn about local waterways.
- And so much more!
Explore our vendor area featuring organizations working to protect and improve our natural spaces, including:
- Kentucky Conservation Committee
- Kentucky Division of Forestry
- Kentucky Student Environmental Coalition
- Healing Habitats
- And more!
The goal of Riverfest is to connect communities to local waterways, water quality education, and outdoor summer fun with friends and neighbors. This is a free event open to individuals and families throughout Central Kentucky, and all ages are welcome. Riverfest is funded by a generous grant from the Kentucky River Authority and support from the Woodford County Fiscal Court.
Please help us spread the word about the new date, and check out our Facebook Events Page for additional updates and information. We look forward to seeing you on June 6th!
