Early Childhood Environmental Education
Bluegrass Greensource’s “Junior Explorers” programs engage preschoolers as they discover the world around them. Through repeated (3-4) lessons with BGGS educators, students develop a foundational awareness of their environment. Lessons align with state and national standards for early childhood education. BGGS educators select and plan lessons that meet the needs of the participants. Read more about our Junior Nature Explorers and Junior Energy Explorers programs below!

Junior Nature Explorers
Our Junior Nature Explorers program engages young, preschool-aged learners as they discover the natural world around them. Learning does not just happen in the classroom–it happens everywhere and all the time! Nature is proven to positively impact children’s cognitive, physical, social, and psychological development. Our Junior Nature Explorers lessons integrate learning and child development with interactive, hands-on discovery of our natural world. Students learn about plants, animals, and water alongside our environmental educators.
Junior Energy Explorers
Junior Energy Explorers is an energy-based education program which seeks to expose our youngest learners to the core basics of how energy moves, works, and transforms through hands-on exploration and observation. The early introduction to energy and scientific thinking provides a necessary foundation on which students’ skills and knowledge will grow. Students investigate the effects and power of the sun, wind, and other energy sources through experimentation and discovery.
