Secondary Environmental Education
Bluegrass Greensource’s middle and high school outreach programs engage students in analyzing and evaluating human impact on our environment. Through a series of 3 lessons with BGGS educators, students work to analyze and create solutions that minimize the effects of human impacts on the natural world. Series topics include: water, energy, and ecology. Lessons align with state and national education standards. BGGS educators select and plan lessons that meet the needs of the participants. Water Education
Water is essential for life and is all around us. Students connect with their nearby water bodies as they investigate aquatic ecosystems and how water moves through watersheds as well as how to minimize the effects of human activities. Where possible, students conduct chemical testing, biological assessments, and habitat surveys of a nearby body of water. Lessons support NGSS standards ESS2, ESS3, and LS4.
Your support allows us to continue to provide educational outreach to PreK-12 students and beyond. Please consider making a donation today and help us build a more sustainable future in the Bluegrass!
