Bluegrass Greensource offers a wide range of resources and education to schools, community groups, businesses, local governments and citizens throughout central Kentucky. To learn more about our services and the groups we partner with, click on the links below.

Bluegrass Greensource remains committed to working with the city of Lexington and local businesses to help improve their sustainability efforts. Here’s how we work in our community.

We work in our local communities, leading workshops, waste audits, and Green Group meetings. We collaborate and exchange ideas with local partners and organizations so that we can, together, help build a greener bluegrass.

Our staff provide environmental education services to 20 counties in Kentucky, working with pre-K through 12th grade. Last year we had 108,610 engagements, impacting 4,658 students. With a staff of trained environmental educators, we can help design, assist, and implement programming for your school.

GreenFest is a one-stop shop to learn about and celebrate sustainable living in the Bluegrass. We create a space for attendees to learn from meaningful workshops, eat good food, enjoy local music, and shop from eco-friendly vendors.

Green Living Labs are a Saturday workshop series at Bluegrass Greensource, where staff present short, engaging workshops to help you build new skills and to live more sustainably. They cover a variety of topics, from gardening to green cleaners at home.

As part of Bluegrass Greensource’s litter abatement outreach we created a regional affiliation of Keep America Beautiful (KAB) known as Keep the Bluegrass Beautiful (KBB). KBB allows each participating county to access the vast network and resources that are offered by Keep America Beautiful, and to network and join forces with other cities and counties in Central Kentucky to further our mission.

Main Street Clean Sweep is a one-day, community-led litter clean up in participating cities and towns throughout Central Kentucky. Community members gather to pick up and dispose of litter in their communities.

Tacos n’ Tequila is a fundraising event to benefit our work at Bluegrass Greensource. Some of Lexington’s best restaurants serve their take on the taco. Attendees enjoy signature margaritas and live music all night long.
