Rain Barrel Workshops
Looking to “green” your garden? Join us to make your very own rain barrel! Participants will learn about the importance of rain barrels and make their very own rain barrel to take home. Rain barrel workshops are offered throughout the year and are made possible by our generous funding partners: City of Danville, Toyota Motor Manufacturing of Kentucky, City of Lexington.
Rain barrel workshops fill up very quickly, so make sure to sign up for our newsletter to be the first to know when we offer new workshops!

Host a Rain Barrel Workshop
Bluegrass Greensource can lead a rain barrel workshop for up to 20 people in Central Kentucky. At the end of the workshop, each participant will have converted a food grade barrel into a working rain barrel.
Bluegrass Greensource will:
- Provide all tools and supplies for 20 rain barrels
- Provide instruction on how to use rain barrels and hand out maintenance information
- Give an overview of water quality and water conservation, as well as how small changes, like rain barrels, can make a big impact in our local environment
- Assist with promotion of the workshop
Host organization will:
- Pay Bluegrass Greensource a workshop fee of $1,500 (additional transportation fee may be assessed under certain circumstances)
- Provide a space with ample room and electric outlets
- Promote the workshop to your audience
- Provide a place for participants to register (a registration fee, usually $20 paid to the organizer, is suggested to ensure participation since space is limited)
