Buckley Guided Mushroom Walk

Come take a guided walk through the natural woods of Buckley Wildlife Sanctuary with Field Biologist, Joe Lacefield as he teaches us about mushroom mysteries and fabulous fungi!

Wear tick repellant/protective clothing and be prepared for heat with plenty of water and coverage.

Bring a lunch to relax around the covered pavillion after the walk!

Family Fishing Day at Buckley

Join us at Buckley on Saturday, August 8th, from 7am–12pm for a morning of fishing on the pond!

Occasional fishing helps our pond and fish population stay healthy, but it is only permitted at our fishing nights. The Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife will be providing poles, bait, and assistance. All ages and experience levels are welcome, but fishing licenses are required for participants 16 and older.

This is a free event and registration is required. Spots fill up fast, so don’t wait!

Buckley Volunteer Day

Bluegrass Greensource invites you to a hands-on volunteer opportunity at Buckley!

Join us Monday, July 27, from 9:30am–12:30pm, as we roll up our sleeves for some big, meaningful projects around the sanctuary. We’ll be refreshing our gardens, planting native species to support local wildlife, removing invasive plants that threaten our ecosystems, and maintaining trails so everyone can continue to enjoy the beauty of our grounds.

Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or just looking to get outside and make a difference, there’s a place for you here! Please register in advance so we can anticipate the number of volunteers.
